Barbara was one of the earliest woman judges appointed to the bench in the Judiciary of Hong Kong, serving as a Judge of the District Court for 18 years before retiring in 2007. She tried thousands of cases, initially as a criminal judge, subsequently as a family court judge and lastly as a judge trying civil cases.
Some of the cases she tried made international headlines. She enjoyed a reputation of being a strict, yet compassionate and fair, judge.
Barbara saw exceptional miracles in the courtroom when she applied her Christian faith to the cases before her, resulting in wonderful testimonies to the power and love of God from the changed lives of those being tried. During her years as a judge, she learnt the lessons of humility and compassion for people in trouble, whilst depending on God’s wisdom and leading to make just, righteous decisions.
Nowadays she serves with Harvest Evangelism in Hong Kong, an international ministry that works alongside pastors, government leaders, business leaders and educational institutions to bring transformation to cities, districts and nations by applying biblical standards of righteousness in these spheres.
Barbara also trains and mentors young judges, professionals and business people on implementing Christian principles in the workplace to influence and impact society and to build righteous businesses.
